Skin Analysis Consultation

A digital skin analysis photographs the face under special lighting and measures features such as spots, pores, texture and redness. It takes ten to twenty minutes and involves no treatment. For a visitor, it is a quick way to organize a plan before spending days or money on procedures.

How it works

A camera system captures standardized images, sometimes with polarized and UV lighting, and software highlights features such as pigment, vessels and surface roughness. The scores are comparisons, not diagnoses. A doctor interprets the images alongside an in-person exam, and results can shift with lighting, makeup and skin condition on the day.

Who it may suit

  • Deciding which concerns to prioritize on a short stay
  • Seeing hidden sun damage or redness
  • Setting a baseline to compare with a later visit
  • Checking whether a planned procedure suits your skin

The treatment day

  1. Cleansing. Makeup and products are removed so the camera sees bare skin.
  2. Image capture. Photos are taken from several angles, sometimes in different lighting modes.
  3. Review. The doctor goes through the findings and explains what they may mean.
  4. Planning. Together you decide on options, order and timing.

Aftercare

  • Save copies of your images and notes if allowed
  • Resume your usual routine
  • Use sunscreen when outdoors
  • Bring the report to a doctor at home if you continue care

Things to know first

  • Scores depend on lighting and device and are not a medical diagnosis
  • Findings may seem alarming but need a clinical exam
  • It does not replace a skin cancer check, and suspicious moles need a dermatologist
  • Different machines give different numbers, so comparisons across clinics are unreliable
  • Treatment recommendations should come from an exam, not only the images

Planning a skin analysis around a Seoul trip

This is the easiest visit to place on day one or two. Since it takes little time and needs no recovery, you can do it between a flight and an evening out, and use the results to book other treatments in the right order.

For a short stay, the main value is triage. The doctor may suggest what can be done in one visit, what needs a course and what is usually done at home. That prevents over-booking and leaves buffer days before departure.

Ask for a copy of the images and notes. They give a baseline if you return to Seoul, and a doctor at home can use them to understand what was found. Come with clean skin and without recent tanning or irritation so the readings are not distorted.

Skin Analysis Consultation: common questions

Do I need to prepare?

Arrive without makeup if possible, and tell the clinic about recent sun exposure, peels or new products.

Is it a medical test?

It is an imaging tool. A doctor still has to interpret it with an examination.

Can it detect skin cancer?

No. Any changing, bleeding or unusual mole should be examined by a dermatologist.

Will it lead to a sales pitch?

It should lead to a discussion of options. You can ask for time to think, or choose nothing.
