Vbeam

Vbeam is a 595 nm pulsed dye laser from Candela; here is how to place a session in a Seoul trip.

How it works

Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser made by Candela, working at 595 nm. This wavelength is absorbed by hemoglobin in blood, so energy concentrates in small vessels while sparing much of the surrounding tissue. A cooling burst usually accompanies each pulse. It is used for redness, small visible vessels, certain birthmarks, and some scar redness.

Good to know

  • Some settings leave bruise-colored patches that last about a week, while gentler settings leave only pinkness.
  • The pulses feel like quick rubber-band snaps for many people.
  • A series of visits is the norm, spaced several weeks apart.
  • Results and recovery depend on the vessels treated and the settings.

What a Vbeam session means for your travel days

Ask whether the planned settings are expected to bruise. If they are, treat at the start of the trip and keep dinner or photo plans flexible.

Gentler non-bruising settings may suit a short trip better, though they may mean more visits to reach the same effect. The doctor can explain the trade-off.

Vbeam: common questions

How long does bruising last?

Often around a week, but it varies. The doctor can tell you what to expect.

Can I use concealer?

Possibly after the skin has settled. Ask the clinic, as products on irritated skin may sting.

Is the laser safe near the eyes?

Protective eyewear is required during treatment, and the doctor will handle this.
