truSculpt
truSculpt is a monopolar RF body contouring device by Cutera; here is a traveler's view of a session.
How it works
truSculpt, from Cutera, is a body contouring device that uses monopolar radiofrequency. Energy passes into the subcutaneous layer and heats fat tissue to a controlled temperature, which may lead to a gradual reduction in treated fat over the following weeks. Applicators of different shapes treat areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It is not a weight-loss method.
Good to know
- Heating is deep but the skin surface usually looks normal, apart from warmth or light pinkness.
- Tenderness or a bruised feeling may appear for a few days.
- Changes develop slowly over weeks, so the visit itself brings no immediate difference.
- Candidates should be near a stable weight and have realistic expectations about modest changes.
What a truSculpt session means for your travel days
Sessions on the body can take a while, but there is no wound to protect. Wear loose clothes and keep your plans light for the rest of the day.
A series might be proposed. For a short trip, ask what one session may achieve and whether the plan could continue elsewhere, or if it makes more sense to wait.
truSculpt: common questions
Will I lose weight?
This treatment is not meant for weight loss. It addresses small localized areas.
Can I exercise afterward?
Often yes after a short wait, but ask the doctor.
When will I see changes?
Typically after several weeks, and results differ.
