Juvelook (PDLLA)

Juvelook is aimed at the texture and firmness of the skin rather than changing facial shape. Visitors should expect small bumps for a day or two and a series of visits, usually about four weeks apart, which does not fit a very short stay.

How it works

Juvelook is an injectable containing poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) with hyaluronic acid. It is placed in the skin in tiny amounts and is thought to stimulate collagen production over time while hydrating. It is used for fine lines, enlarged pores and mild acne scarring. Improvement appears gradually over weeks and results vary by person.

Who it may suit

  • Fine lines and crepey texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Mild, shallow acne scars
  • Visitors planning more than one trip or a longer stay

The treatment day

  1. Skin review. The doctor looks at your skin quality and goals and checks that nothing in your history rules this out.
  2. Numbing. Numbing cream is applied for a period before injection.
  3. Micro-injection. Many small injections are placed across the face, with a pattern chosen for your concerns.
  4. Recovery and repeat. Bumps fade in a day or so. A course is often two to three sessions about four weeks apart.

Aftercare

  • Avoid touching or massaging the face unless instructed.
  • Keep skin clean and use gentle products for a couple of days.
  • For roughly a day, stay out of saunas and hot baths and skip heavy workouts.
  • Use daily sunscreen to protect treated skin.
  • Report persistent lumps, redness or increasing pain.

Things to know first

  • Small bumps, redness, pinpoint bruises and swelling are expected for a few days.
  • Nodules or firm lumps can appear occasionally and may need treatment.
  • Rare complications include infection and vascular events.
  • Not suited to pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin infection, autoimmune disease or keloid tendency.
  • Benefit builds slowly and varies by person.

Planning Juvelook around a Seoul trip

The spacing of sessions is the planning problem. If you can stay about a month, a second session fits; otherwise the first can start the course while follow-up waits for your next visit. Ask whether a single session offers meaningful benefit for your goals before booking.

Bumps and pinpoint marks are mild but visible. Treat early in the stay so they fade before you are in photos, and bring sunscreen for sightseeing. Take a record of the product and technique for your files.

Juvelook (PDLLA): common questions

Do I need all sessions to see a benefit?

Many protocols use several sessions, and results often build with each. Ask the doctor what to expect from fewer sessions.

How soon will I look normal after treatment?

Redness and bumps usually fade in a day or two, though bruises can take longer.

Can I do it before a flight?

A short gap of a few days is often acceptable for this treatment, but the doctor will advise.
