Sofwave
Sofwave uses synchronous ultrasound parallel beam technology; this page explains how a session could fit a short Seoul trip.
How it works
Sofwave, from Sofwave Medical, is described by its maker as using SUPERB (synchronous ultrasound parallel beam) technology. Instead of tight single focal points, it delivers ultrasound in parallel beams over a band of tissue at a relatively shallow depth, with surface cooling during use. The purpose is to warm the upper layers of the dermis in order to encourage a gradual firming response.
Good to know
- Because the energy is placed at a more superficial depth than classic deep-focus HIFU, the device is often discussed for fine lines and mild laxity.
- Cooling at the skin surface helps protect the outer layer; sensations are commonly described as heat or pulses.
- Visible reaction is often mild redness that fades in hours, and swelling is uncommon but possible.
- Effects appear over weeks and vary by person.
What a Sofwave session means for your travel days
A quick appointment and little visible after-effect suit travelers who do not want to schedule around redness. You could treat early in the trip and still head to dinner the same night.
Gradual change means you will probably be back home before any difference shows. If you want to judge it, standardize photos in Seoul and again several weeks later.
Sofwave: common questions
Is it the same as Ultherapy?
They are different systems with different delivery methods, so settings, depth, and feel differ. A doctor can explain what suits you.
Do I need to avoid the sun afterward?
Sun protection is a sensible habit for most procedures. Ask the clinic for specific advice.
How many sessions fit a short trip?
That depends on the plan the doctor sets. Some protocols spread visits over weeks, which may not suit a short stay.
